Chess for Success! New in 2018

Chess is fun and exciting, offering wonderful opportunities to grow a child’s self respect and build valuable social skills.

At Renaissance our Chess camps are dedicated to improve academic excellence by encouraging and training our students to become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and admirable leaders.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Chess! Whether you have a limited knowledge of the game and would like to learn more or have never touched a piece, we will guide you through the fundamentals of chess.

This camp also offers the perfect opportunity for the improving chess player to learn the tools and strategies associated with better tournament results and progress. Students will be grouped with players of similar level and experience to make sure the lesson material is always relevant (neither too elementary or advanced) for the group. Students at all levels will be presented with challenging puzzles to solve.

Let’s not forget though, chess is fun!! Kids have a blast playing their friends, siblings, and schoolmates. Experience your first chess tournament and you will see that chess teaches a lot, and is a great opportunity for children to socialize, compete, and challenge themselves.
